FAQ's

Choosing the correct tower to suit the type of work you do often will make your life a lot easier, but don’t worry, even if your circumstances change, the Staffy CORE Towers are modular and can be tweeked to fit your changing needs.

The 1400mm wide options are generally a better fit, because if you use an 800mm wide option with the platform above 2.4m, you would then require an outrigger on each corner. This would make the tower wider than the 1400mm options at the base, as well as making the unit more expensive.

Although the 800 options are load rated to 450kg, having two people working side by side on the platform with tools might make things a bit cramped. In this case it is probably better to go with the wider option so that you can have your tools on the second platform whilst standing on the other.

When using the Staffy MAX towers as mobile roof edge protection, outriggers are always required on both the 800mm and 1400mm units. Staffy MAX Towers fall into the 1:3 (width:height) ratio. With a width of 800mm and wider, simply multiply the scaffold width by 3 to determine the maximum platform height for this width scaffold. If your required platform height exceeds this height then outriggers are required to increase the scaffold width.

Example: The 0.8m wide Staffy CORE Tower can raise its platform up to 2.4m (3 x 0.8m = 2.4m) before outriggers are required. The 1.4m wide Staffy CORE Tower can raise its platforms up to 4.2m (3 x 1.4m = 4.2m) before outriggers are required.
Note: The width to height ratios are a guide only. Other circumstances like high winds, uneven ground or type of work may require you to use outriggers
earlier. As always, common sense prevails.

Each job is different so ensure that you understand

Yes, just use double ledgers and swivel couplers to negotiate the corners.

The toe board clips (TU16) allow you to place the toe board on the outside of the platform without creating an obstruction / trip hazard. Use 18mm timber no lower than 150mm.
